New MRI machine at Ülemiste Health Center opens doors to more complex diagnostic exams
Tallinna Eriarstikeskus (Tallinn Specialist Medical Center) has opened a new diagnostic facility in the Von Baer Health Building at the Ülemiste Health Campus. At its core is the cutting-edge SIGNA™ Voyager Premier Edition 1.5T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner. This new device offers significantly improved capabilities, including the ability to perform more complex examinations, such as those of the heart, abdomen, and pelvic regions. A new high-tech MRI machine improves diagnostic capabilities for patients and introduces unique opportunities for MRI examinations in private healthcare.
“Our goal is to provide top-level diagnostic services in the most comfortable environment possible. The new MRI scanner helps us fulfill this promise by reducing waiting times and delivering high-quality, detailed imaging results. Ülemiste Health Center 2 has been designed with people’s well-being in mind — easy access and a modern setting make visits a pleasant experience,” said Grete Siirak, CEO of Tallinna Eriarstikeskus.
The SIGNA Voyager Premier Edition 1.5T MRI introduces several innovations that enhance both the patient experience and diagnostic precision. Its wide bore opening and ergonomic examination table offer patients more space, reducing the risk of claustrophobia and making the procedure more comfortable. The lighter, more flexible AIR™ “blanket” coils adapt to different parts of the body, providing high-resolution image quality and a broader range of scanning options. AIR Recon DL technology speeds up scans by up to 50% while delivering a better signal-to-noise ratio and high-resolution images. Additionally, the device features the lowest energy consumption in its class, using less helium and making it more environmentally friendly.
“The new scanner’s ability to perform complex abdominal, pelvic, cardiac, and neurological examinations is particularly important. More detailed and faster exams help physicians make more accurate diagnoses and offer patients more personalized treatments,” added Äli Roose, Head of Radiology at Tallinna Eriarstikeskus. “Furthermore, our radiologists are subspecialized in areas such as neurology, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, breast radiology, and cardiac radiology. This subspecialization ensures more accurate and reliable diagnoses, which are the foundation of high-quality care,” Roose concluded.
